Devon is one of the 15 regions within the E.P.A and has a committee which is elected annually.

The committee promotes the sport within the county and each year organizes a singles, doubles and triples competition for its members. It also selects teams to represent the county in annual  inter-regional championship and organizes competitions with neighbouring regions such as Cornwall.

Members who are successful in the competitions are able to represent the county at national events.

To promote the sport in Devon the committee also organizes a summer league where teams get used to competition in a friendly atmosphere.

Although Petanque is played widely within Devon, in villages clubs and pubs, the E.P.A. membership is currently concentrated in teams based in or near Dartmouth, Exeter, Newton Abbot, Ottery St Mary, Bideford and Tiverton
